Human Reconstructed Dermis

DermisDESCRIPTION
Fibroblasts are a major component of the dermis. Their primary role is to develop connective tissue by secreting proteins such as collagen. The main function of fibroblasts is to maintain the tissues cohesion by continuously secreting precursors of the extracellular matrix, allowing them to play a critical role in wound healing.

After several days of tissue culture in defined cell culture medium, fibroblasts isolated from foreskin have rebuild a human dermal model demonstrating all the characteristics of the in vivo dermis.
